Dambai (O/R), Dec 7, GNA – Voting has started steadily in the eight constituencies across Oti Region to elect Members of Parliaments and a President.

Long and winding queues could be seen by the Ghana News Agency as the exercise progresses smoothly.

Voting started at 7am in the eight constituencies with some starting a bit later.

Some 27 ballots were cast as at 0730 hours at Lapaz L/A 2, with some 32 voters casting their ballot at L/A Lapaz 2A and 12 people voting at L/A Lapaz 1A at 0800 hours.

A total of 48,181 eligible voters are supposed to cast their ballot in the Krachi East Constituency, when the polls ends at 1700 hours.

The Ghana News Agency observed security presence to chart a peaceful exercise with COVID -19 protocols safety measurement being observed religiously.

Mr Klutse Kafui, Municipal Director of Electoral Commission (EC) for Krachi East, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, procedures of the election are smooth and turnout encouraging.
