Accra, Dec 01, GNA-The special voting exercise started at exactly 0700 hours at the Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency but at a snail pace.
The Anyaa-Sowutuom Police Station is hosting two polling centres, making room for the adherence to the COVID-19 safety protocols.
Mr Isaac Kyei Baffour, Presiding Officer at the Centre “A” polling station, told the Ghana News Agency that all the voting materials arrived on time while the polling officials arrived at 0600 hours.
He said 841 voters were expected to cast their ballot at the centre “A”.
He said since the centre was being hosted at the Police Station, he was not expecting any security challenges.
He said as at 0715 hours, only one personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service had who come to the centre could not find her name in the register.
Mr Kofi Imbeah, Presiding officer for Centre B, said 420 persons were expected to vote at the centre and that the process had been smooth “so far”.
The GNA observed that the polling agents for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) were present at both polling centres.
The queues at both centres were also very short.
